Why Install a Sump Pump?
A sump pump can help to rid your crawlspace of standing water, which can greatly damage your property and its foundation if left to be.
Why Our Service Stands Out
Improved Air Quality
Standing water in your crawlspace leads to mold and mildew growth, which negatively affects the quality of air inside your property. We’ll install a sump pump that will dispel standing water away from it.
Energy Savings
A crawlspace that’s too humid may cause your property’s HVAC system to work harder. Installing a sump pump will help keep the humidity to a minimum, saving you money on your energy bills.
Pest Mitigation
Standing water always attracts pests. Don’t allow your crawlspace to become a breeding ground. Let us install the right sump pump in it.
Structural Integrity
A standing water problem in your crawlspace can lead to water damage to the foundation, which compromises the structural integrity of your property. Let our team help you fight standing water with the perfect sump pump.
Competitive Pricing and Fast Turnaround
We do all we can to keep our prices affordable for our customers. We also make sure to complete the job in as little time as possible, so we don’t overstay our welcome. However, that does not mean we do so at the expense of quality.
Our Sump Pump Installation Process
While DIY installation is possible, a professional like C&M Crawlspace Solutions can ensure proper installation and adherence to local codes. The following is our installation process when it comes to sump pumps.
- Choose Location: Ideally, this will be near a GFCI outlet for safety reasons, and in a place that sees a lot of standing water.
- Marking & Cutting: The basin will be outlined and a hole will be cut in the floor to serve as the pit.
- Pit Digging: Typically, the size of the pit is 30 inches deep and 18 to 24 inches wide.
- Basin Installation: The sump basin is placed in the pit and wrapped with filter fabric. Gravel is then added.
- Pump Installation: It is centered and leveled to allow for motion in the float.
- Discharge Pipe Connection: A check valve is attached to the discharge pipe, which is then connected to the pump itself.
- Discharge Line Installation: Ideally, this will be at a distance of 6 to 10 feet away from the property.
- Power Connection: A GFCI cable is connected and tested to ensure proper functioning.
- Pit Filling: The rest of the pit is filled with concrete.

The typical sump pump lasts for about 3 to 5 years, but it depends on how often it runs as well.
